Probably the best-known Hong Kong landmark, Victoria Peak overlooks the entire city with panoramic views across the harbour to Kowloon and down the southside of the island all the way out to outlying islands such as Lamma, Cheung Chau and Lantau on a clear day. Offering the ultimate Peak experience - ride up the 130-year old Peak Tram funicular and journey to the Peak Sky Terrace.

Originally an area reserved for prominent European residents from the 19th century onwards, the Peak has always been popular due to its incredible views and cooler climate compared to the rest of Hong Kong island. Prior to the opening of the Peak Tram in 1888, residents were carried up the steep slope in sedan chairs.

The steam-powered Peak Tram funicular has remained largely unchanged for 130 years, using the same track routes up the mountainside from Garden Road, Central up to Victoria Peak. After changing to electric in 1926, the tram has become a popular mode of transport for commuters as well as an iconic tourist attraction thanks to its 12-minute journey time from peak to the Central district as well as spectacular views of the cityscape.
